The Central Republican Stadium is the main sports arena in the capital city of Dushanbe, Tajikistan. Initially known as the Republican Stadium named after M. V. Frunze, its construction began in 1939 but was halted due to World War II. The stadium was officially opened in 1946, featuring a west stand for 5,000 spectators.
In 1962, the stadium underwent a major renovation, expanding its capacity to 21,400. During the Soviet era, it served as the home ground of Energetik Dushanbe, later known as the legendary FC Pamir Dushanbe.
After the collapse of the USSR, it was renamed Central Republican Stadium. Today, it is the official home venue for the Tajikistan national football team, FC Istiklol, and the youth, junior, and women’s national teams. The stadium also hosts athletics competitions and other major sporting events.
